DCR Library has a good collection of reference books, current & back volumes of research journals, conference proceedings, annual reports, theses, reprints, maps and CD-ROM databases.
Books
Library has 1200 reference volumes. All the books are classified according to Universal Decimal Classification and catalogued as per Anglo American Catalogue Rules II and arranged in the selves as per the classified order.
Periodicals
Current issues of periodicals are arranged alphabetically on periodical display cum- storage racks. Previous issues of the year are kept in cubicles of periodical display racks. This Directorate subscribes 35 Indian and 22 foreign journals. The lists of journals subscribed are in the Annexure.
Bound Volumes of Journals
The bound volumes of journals are arranged in the stack room. They are arranged in classified order as per Universal Decimal Classification. This library has more than 1550 back volumes of journals.
Annual Reports
Library has a good collection of Annual Reports received from various ICAR institutes and others of India and abroad. They are arranged alphabetically by the name of the institution.
Reprints
Library has a collection of more than 1000 research papers published all over the world on cashew. These reprints were digitized and they are made available for electronic access. The reprints are also arranged in classified order and kept in the filing cabinet.
Electronic collection
This library has a good collection of electronic CD-ROM databases viz., HORT CD ; PLANTgene CD; SOIL CD; CROP CD; CABPEST CD; AGRIS; AGRICOLA and TROPAG. Some E-books are also available for reference.
Library Working Hours
Library is kept open on all working days from 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM without any break. On Sundays and holidays, the library is kept closed.
