Sale of cashew graft

DCR has a cashew nursery accredited by National Horticultural Board (NHB) to cater need of planting material. Softwood grafts of varieties like Bhaskara, Ullal-3, Ullal-3, VRI-3, Vengurla-7, Vengurla-4, Dhana etc. are available for sale in the nursery between June to August every year.

Soil, Plant, Water and Manure analysis facility

The laboratory under Soil Science section of ICAR-DCR is providing analytical service to the stake holders on payment basis. The soil samples from farmers are analyzed for major, secondary and micro nutrients and recommendation for fertilizer and manures are given. Leaf samples are also analysed as a quick method to findout nutrient adequacy or deficiency. Apart from farmers, the samples from students, industrialists, researchers and Govt. departments are also analysed on payment of required fees.

Additional 18% GST shall be applicable. Additional Rs. 100/- towards postal charges, if results are to be posted. Payment can be made by online transfer (NEFT) or card payment at the Directorate or by DD. The demand draft should be in favour of “Director, ICAR Unit- DCR, Puttur”.

The cover letter containing the information on payment, the details of samples and the analysis to be carriedout are to be mailed to “Director, ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Darbe (PO), Puttur 574202, DK, Karnataka. All samples should be properly labelled.

Advisory service

Advisory service on all aspects of cashew cultivation and processing is given to growers and stake holders through pamphlets, brouchers, media and other publications.

Soil health cards for different cashew growing regions are being prepared and distributed to farmers

Consultancy

This Directorate offers the consultancy to the large cashew growers based on requests. This Directorate has the expertise in the field of Cashew Varieties, Canopy Management, Rejuvenation, Propagation and Nursery Management, Soil and Water Conservation Techniques, Intercropping in Cashew, Pest and Disease Management and Cashew Processing. These aspects are dealt by the scientific experts in the disciplines of Horticulture, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Soil Science, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Agricultural Structure and Process Engineering etc. The consultancy fee are charged as per the ICAR guidelines.
