The FTS is a software solution developed by ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Karnataka to help plant nurseries. It has two parts 1) a QR code system for farmers to access information on purchased varieties and 2) Data Analytics for tracking the location of planting, farmers, and sale of varieties for a specific period.

Farmers often forget the identity of the variety purchased and many a time, end up with the wrong identification. In perennial crops, unless the plants flower and fruit, it is difficult to identify the specific varieties in the seedling stage. Hence, they need some tool to identify and track the purchased plants. On the other hand, for a plant nursery, it is very crucial to keep track of the location of the planting and the identity of farmers

The software can be profitably deployed by ICAR institutes and agriculture universities selling plants of different crops. It can also cater to the needs of private nurseries selling a range of plants.

Whenever a farmer purchases plants in the nursery, a unique QR code will be generated on the bill. Farmers can scan this QR code to access the information on the purchased varieties. A feedback form is also provided for the farmer to communicate his views. The user can also save the QR code on his mobile for later use. Further, it is possible to send a WhatsApp message containing links to the QR code contents and bill via this software to a farmer.

With FTS, it is possible to generate various reports on farmers and the distribution of varieties up to the village level including the location coordinates of the plantation. This helps in assessing the impact of a particular plant nursery.
